Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Sydney office is pleased to advise the appointment of The Walshe Group as KTO’s destination representative in New Zealand, with immediate effect.
The Walshe Group, in partnership with KTO, will be responsible for enhancing the awareness of South Korea as a tourist destination to continue to grow New Zealand arrivals. This will include working closely with travel trade, media and relevant partners to increase both the promotion and product offerings of South Korea.
Branch Director of KTO, Hyeongjoon Kim said, “The Korean wave (Hallyu) is getting very popular, and New Zealanders seek traditional cultural experiences when travelling. With the increase of direct flights to South Korea, this would open up more opportunities for them to travel. We hosted a few events in New Zealand before, but with this partnership, the trade industry can anticipate more activities in 2024.”
The Walshe Group is Australasia’s longest standing tourism representation company having been established in New Zealand in 1976. With a passion for working with tourism entities that have strong cultural and heritage depth with a regenerative outlook, they are an ideal partner.
“South Korea is a perfect destination to explore with such rich history and heritage, wonderful outdoors and nature, a modern K culture and global identity and welcoming people and culture. We are looking forward to sharing the beauty and depth of South Korea to an avid Kiwi traveller.”, commented Jacqui Walshe, Executive Chair of The Walshe Group.
The Walshe Group has appointed Jacqui Kim, originally from South Korea, in the role of Tourism Sales & Marketing Executive.
