Supported by Northern Territory Major Events Company, fabALICE Festival returns to celebrate inclusivity and diversity from 7-10 March 2024 with glitter, silver ribbons of fabric and dazzling costumes taking over the Red Centre.
NTMEC is the Territory’s biggest events organisation, supporting around 60 to 70 events through the Event Funding Program and providing event organisers with strategy and industry advice.
NTMEC CEO Suzana Bishop said: “fabALICE is a great example of an event that combines the uniqueness of the Territory with an iconic theme. Organisers have worked closely with NTMEC to find creative ways to enhance and grow the event, generating more impact for the destination.”
“We have so many incredible events, including plenty that help travellers celebrate their interests while discovering a new destination.
“These events attract people from all over the world to the Territory, firmly cementing iconic destinations such as Alice Springs and the Top End as must-visit locations.”
This year’s fabALICE will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the widely acclaimed film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, in which two drag queens and a transgender woman journey from Sydney to Alice Springs in an old bus named Priscilla.
The program will pay homage to the cult movie, with attendees encouraged to find their inner Priscilla and dress bold, glitzy and bright.
Ticketed events include a Comedy and Cabaret show with Rhonda Burchmore and Geraldine Hickey, the famous Priscilla Under Lights Gala with headline act Electric Fields and the ever-popular Drag Queen Bingo, hosted by Party Passport. Free family-friendly events include Drag Queen Storytime and Singalong.
