Not far from Singapore Changi Airport, and conveniently, the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel is Changi Village and The Jewel.
Changi Village is a modern village estate with a hawker centre made famous by the popular Nasi Lemak stall. The food at the Changi Village hawker centre has been featured on television programmes. It is a highly recommended haunt for locals and is worth a visit. Changi Beach Park is one of the oldest coastal beach parks in Singapore. Approximately 3.3km long, this linear park overlooks Pulau Ubin and has stretches of lovely white beaches dotted with coconut palms, BBQ pits, park benches, bicycle hire, and shelters. We found both a relaxing break before our next flights.
Jewel Changi Airport
Another attraction just minutes from our room at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel is Discover Jewel – Changi Airport, the brand-new lifestyle destination. Just a few minutes walk from our hotel via a pedestrian walkway. We were amazed by the spectacular Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, and enjoyed the beautiful sound and light show at nightfall. The Canopy Park on Level 5 brings a world of fun attractions for all ages, including playgrounds, sky-high bouncing nets, mazes and more. Jewel takes the retail experience to a new standard, with over 280 shops. We found prices extraordinarily competitive and cheaper than other malls we had visited.
The locals enjoy spending a few hours at Changi Airport, voted the World’s Best Airport for the eighth year in a row. Called “a destination in itself,” the airport complex draws shoppers across Singapore. Visitors can view international brands among the five themed gardens, including the butterfly garden. Travellers can buy duty-free today and pick up merchandise for tomorrow’s flight.
Jewel Changi Airport is impressive. With remarkable glass and steel dome developments by architects behind the iconic Marina Bay Sands, it has everything – gardens, attractions, activity, areas, retail, dining, and more. And, of course, that cascading waterfall in the middle of the Shiseido Forest Valley, with the 2,000 trees.
Jewel is open 24hrs. Most shops operate between 10 am to 10 pm. Selected shops have extended operating hours. Jewel is home to a world-class tenant mix featuring local and established overseas brands and is called the place where the World meets Singapore, and Singapore meets the World.
Many think of airports as places of transit, stopovers, and hassles; Singapore’s Changi Airport is a must-tourist attraction in its own right. This extension transforms Singapore’s world-class aviation hub into a genuinely inspiring lifestyle destination.
Something for everyone
Jewel Changi Airport boasts a famous selection of world-famous brands and local artisanship. The space’s offerings are around the Forest Valley, allowing shoppers to engage in retail while surrounded by lush greenery. There are choices and prices for everyone.
Fans will experience a blast from the past at Pokémon Centre Singapore, the brand’s only permanent retail store outside Japan. View a range of official merchandise—including toys, stationery, and collectibles—which may appeal to the young and the “young at heart.”
Staying at the Crowne Plaza Changi meant we could enjoy both the Jewel and Changi Village, as they say – “a destination in itself.” Quality has value, and in the Changi Airport, The Crowne Plaza Changi and the Jewel Changi, a quality combination abounds to please and encourage more visits to Singapore.
