Brussels’ new Meetings Ambassadors were honoured this evening, in the city centre’s beautifully renovated Stock Exchange building, during the eighth edition of the Brussels Meetings Ambassadors Night. 15 organisers who staged international conferences or major meetings in 2023, in addition to existing recurring events, were honoured.
Brussels has a packed calendar of large, international, professional events. These range from the annual congress of the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy, with some 2,000 participants, to the Busworld B2B fair, with some 30,000 visitors. This success is down to a host of organisers who bring these events to more than 200 exceptional venues in the Brussels-Capital
Region. In fact, our capital city is the world’s number one venue for international association conferences. Brussels is also among the best in the world for other large, international meetings.
Brussels Meetings Ambassadors Programme
To bring the organisation of such an event to Brussels, organisers can count on the support of visit.brussels’ Convention & Association Bureau. It runs the unique Brussels Meetings Ambassadors Programme, a set of services and activities that support applications for an international event. In recent years, some 300 ambassadors have called on the programme for their exhibitions, conventions and annual events. Every year, the list of ambassadors grows ever longer.
It’s also why a great deal of hotel infrastructure has been added in Brussels and why there is a new hub for international associations with The Association Place.
The new ambassadors
The ambassadors form a network of business people who have a passion not only for their industry but also for our region. As such, they contribute to the image of Brussels in the world. They come from a variety of sectors ranging from healthcare, life sciences, and the sustainable and digital economy, to finance & trade. They consistently manage to showcase the assets of our capital city and bring thousands of people to Brussels. Reason enough to give the people behind this success the title of Brussels Meetings Ambassadors. Tonight, this title was awarded to the organisers of new events during the Brussels Meetings Ambassadors Night at the Brussels Stock Exchange. There were about 150 attendees for the dinner and awards ceremony.
