Viking® has announced a new strategic sponsorship with Australia’s national Baroque ensemble, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra – a critically acclaimed orchestra in the global classical music scene, an incubator of Baroque talent and builder of a growing ecosystem of next-generation Brandenburg artists.
Commencing in January 2024, the sponsorship establishes a strong alliance between multi-award-winning, small ship line Viking and five-time ARIA Award winner, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. The sponsorship provides the opportunity to create a new shared audience within Australia’s culturally rich and artistic communities.
Viking offers experiences for The Thinking Person,™ with its onboard cultural insight and personal enrichment program for the curious traveller, complementing the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra’s values for exploration, new experiences and community connection through exciting international collaborations.

The music of the Baroque flourished in central Europe – through Italy, Germany and France. Viking’s European River journeys offer Baroque music lovers the opportunity to immerse in the history of Vivaldi, Handel, Bach and more, through enchanting performances and by visiting the alluring cities these great composers once graced.

Throughout 2024, Viking will co-sponsor six concert series providing an opportunity to host and reward loyal guests and travel partners in Melbourne and Sydney. Additionally, the 2024 regional concert series in New South Wales and Victoria will afford Viking guests and travel partners the opportunity to experience the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra closer to home.
The 2024 season begins with the Brandenburg’s Australian award-winning concert series, Notre-Dame. Hear music that has been performed within the iconic Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral across eight centuries in what will be the Brandenburg’s most ambitious concert production to date. Notre-Dame opens on 22 February 2024 at Melbourne Recital Centre and on 27 February at City Recital Hall in Sydney.
