Design and Architecture
The main concept behind the property’s design incorporates natural light, creating a sense of openness and tranquility throughout the space. This is achieved using organic forms, such as curves and the prominent use of green throughout the property. The goal is to foster a sense of calm and rejuvenation for guests, offering them a pause from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding infrastructure.
As a Citadines brand, the hotel-in-residence embodies the attributes of being Urban, Versatile, and Dynamic. The concept of the greenhouse is reflected in the monochromatic design, with various shades, tones, and textures of green incorporated to add depth and interest. Subtle accents, such as terracotta and brass, as well as monstera wallpaper, prevent the space from feeling overwhelming.
Unique elements can be found throughout the property, including an engraved brass inlay artwork of Singapore’s skyline on the reception counter, reflecting off its reflective surface. The selection of upholstery fabric is bright and vibrant, with organic patterns that encapsulate the greenhouse concept.
Furniture shapes are mostly organic and curved, introducing a sense of fluidity and mimicking the gentle contours found in nature. The property also features an artwork of the map of Science Park made out of carpet poms at the Level One Transfer Lift Lobby, adding a unique touch to the overall design. Additionally, guests can perform their own check-in at the self-check-in kiosks at the Transfer Lift Lobby.

The artwork above the bed in all the guests’ rooms is inspired by the Citadines brand story of “The Love of Cities” and the greenhouse concept. Aptly titled “City in the Garden” by Kenneth Koh Qibao, the artwork is inspired by the lush environment of the Citadines Science Park Singapore, featuring a series of gilded greenhouses that mimic the architectural massing of the Science Park buildings. At first glance, City in the Garden is reminiscent of a classical oriental landscape painting with a verdant arrangement of trees and shrubs and a cityscape of glass greenhouses housing exotic plants. Upon closer viewing, there is a play in scale –a seemingly oversized watering can and garden rake reveals that the greenhouses could also possibly be the scale of a tabletop terrarium. A curious new cityscape is created, where nature and people coexist in harmony.
