Ras Al Khaimah, the burgeoning tourist hotspot, is poised to captivate the world this New Year’s Eve with a breathtaking fireworks display, aiming to shatter two GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™. In what promises to be an evening of unparalleled magnificence, the Emirate plans to unfurl an eight-minute pyrotechnic marvel stretching 4.5 km along its picturesque coastline, from Al Marjan Island to Al Hamra Village.
This year’s spectacle transcends traditional boundaries, blending a mesmerizing “carpet” of aquatic pyrotechnics, LED drones, and fireworks, all synchronizing harmoniously to a custom-composed musical score. The thematic representation of Ras Al Khaimah’s diverse landscape—encompassing sea, desert, and mountains—will serve as a canvas for this artistic expression. The Emirate targets two novel records: the ‘Longest chain of aquatic floating fireworks’ and the ‘Longest straight-line drone display.’
Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, articulates the vision behind this grand celebration: “Building on our past successes, we’re pushing boundaries to create unforgettable experiences. This New Year’s Eve, we aim to not only light up the skies but also etch Ras Al Khaimah’s name in history with two new world records.”
With expectations of over 50,000 spectators, the event offers diverse viewing experiences. Attendees can revel in a free-access musical festival featuring an array of activities, food trucks, and live entertainment. Alternatively, SoundFest offers a paid, premium experience with international bands and DJ performances, priced at AED300 per person.
Adding to the excitement, the event introduces novel free-access areas for camping and caravans, as well as a Vehicle Viewing Point, catering to those preferring a cozy celebration from their cars.
This extraordinary event not only commemorates the New Year but also marks Ras Al Khaimah’s impressive recovery in tourism, aligning with its vision to attract over 3 million visitors annually by 2030. This celebration is more than just an event; it’s a testament to the Emirate’s resilience and its ascending trajectory in the global tourism sector.
