In celebration of the 24th anniversary of Macau’s return to the Motherland, Melco Resorts & Entertainment and Macao Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM) has co-organized an event titled FAOM x Melco’s Celebration of the Return to the Motherland Variety Show. Co-hosted by Macau Gaming Enterprises Staff’s Association and the Gaming Employees Home, the event took place on November 30 at the Macao Federation of Trade Unions Youth Center. Performers offered a series of vibrant performances before a one-hundred strong audience in celebration of the SAR’s return to the Motherland and expressed their best wishes for the Motherland and Macau.

Mr. Zhao Heqing, Deputy Director General of Social Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region; Ms. Ho Sut Heng, President of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions; Mr. Lawrence Ho, Chairman and CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment; Mr. Lee Chong Cheng, President of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions; Ms. Akiko Takahashi, Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff to Melco Chairman & CEO; Ms. Fong Sio Teng, Vice President of the Macau Gaming Enterprises Staff’s Association; and Mr. Lei Kwun Hei, President of the Gaming Employees Home, were among the co-hosts in attendance at the the opening ceremony of the show.

Mr. Lee Chong Cheng, President of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions, said, “As a contributor of the development of the SAR, Macao Federation of Trade Unions has always adhered to its mission of proactively helping employees improve their employment competitiveness through vocational training and job matching services, while also providing enterprises with exceptional talent to play a positive role in the stable and healthy development of the economy.

“This year, the training institutions under the FAOM have provided training to more than 15,000 people, and the job referral services department and its job matching agencies have assisted more than 3,500 people in successful job matchings. Such achievements rely on the strong support of FAOM from companies including Melco. In the future, FAOM hopes to continue to deepen its cooperation with Melco to jointly enhance vocational training and job matching services. The Federation also hopes to continue to cooperate in organizing different types of activities to develop more platforms and opportunities for employees, and to jointly generate extended prospects for their career development.”

Mr. Lawrence Ho, Chairman and CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, said, “Melco has a long history of joining hands with FAOM for the community. A variety of initiatives range from our collaborative and ongoing ‘Simple Acts of Kindness’ volunteer services for the community, to being the only private enterprise in Macau with a named giving shop for the community through our ‘Melco & Colleagues Giving Stores’, which was the first of its kind and operated in partnership with FAOM, as an initiative that enabled community members access to a broad range of donated goods from Melco and Colleagues during the pandemic.

“In support of FAOM’s goals to benefit the community, this year, our collaborations have included nearly 60 activities with over 200 volunteer participations – offering 610 of volunteer hours to benefit 440 FAOM beneficiaries. Melco will continue to focus on our efforts, as a Socially Responsible Corporate Citizen, to enhance the wellbeing of communities, and to give back to the communities in which we operate. We will of course continue to work closely with FAOM and our community partners, as well as the government to ensure the wellbeing and livelihood of the community, especially those in need.”

The show opened with a celebratory and majestic kung fu performance, followed by lively music, singing, dancing and other artistic performances, as well as exciting games and a lucky draw. The event wrapped up with a performance of the renowned hit “Tomorrow Will Be Better” by guests and performers to express the best wishes for the Motherland and Macau.

Many Melco volunteers attended the meaningful event together with their children as part of the Company’s ‘Teaching Children Values’ initiative, which is focused on imparting important and positive values to children through family volunteering activities and fun educational workshops.
