In a remarkable development in the aviation sector, Vietjet has proudly announced its inaugural flights from Adelaide and Perth to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This move marks Vietjet as the first Vietnamese carrier to reach South Australia and Western Australia and signifies a growing bond between the two nations.
Less than a year after marking its presence in the Australian market, Vietjet has doubled its weekly flights to Australia, offering 58 weekly flights starting this December. This rapid expansion showcases Vietjet’s commitment to connecting cultures and facilitating travel between key cities.
The inaugural flight from Adelaide to Ho Chi Minh City was celebrated with a grand ceremony attended by notable figures, including Perth Airport Chief Operating Officer Scott Woodward, Deputy Premier Hon Rita Saffioti, and Vietjet’s Vice President. Woodward’s enthusiasm was palpable as he stated, “Vietjet’s entry into Perth is not just about connecting destinations; it’s about bridging communities and economies.”
South Australia’s 12th largest export destination in Vietnam has witnessed a 32% increase in exports in the last year. Vietjet’s new routes are expected to stimulate this economic relationship further, creating a conduit for increased tourism and trade.
South Australian Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison expressed optimism, noting, “Vietjet’s Adelaide route opens up significant avenues for tourism and trade, strengthening our ties with one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia.”
The introduction of these new flights is met with great enthusiasm by travellers and the business community alike. Adelaide Airport Managing Director Brenton Cox shared, “The new Vietjet service has been met with excitement, especially among the Vietnamese community in South Australia, promising a boost in tourism and cultural exchange.”
Vietjet’s innovative approach extends beyond just expanding routes. The airline celebrates its new services with a promotional campaign offering 58,000 discounted tickets across its Australian network. This strategic move is poised to attract travellers eager to explore Vietnam’s rich culture and picturesque landscapes.
Furthermore, Vietjet prides itself on providing environmentally friendly flights with a fleet of modern aircraft. The airline emphasizes customer satisfaction, offering fresh meals, professional service, and additional perks like free Sky Care insurance and a loyalty program named SkyJoy.
Vietjet’s strategic expansion into Australia is more than just a business move; it’s a cultural bridge connecting people, economies, and experiences. As the airline continues to soar to new heights, it promises to bring the world closer, one flight at a time.
