ONYX Hospitality GroupIn a stunning showcase of strategic brilliance and visionary leadership, ONYX Hospitality Group has emerged as a trailblazer in the Southeast Asian hospitality industry at ITB Asia 2023. Held at Singapore’s Sands Expo and Convention Center from October 25 to 27, this event marked a pivotal moment for ONYX, demonstrating its robust commitment to sustainable growth and industry innovation.

With over half a century of experience in hospitality, ONYX Hospitality Group operates under four leading brands – Amari, OZO, Shama, and Oriental Residence. Each brand, unique in its offerings, collectively caters to the diverse needs of business and leisure travellers across the Asia Pacific region. The participation of ONYX in ITB Asia 2023 emphasized its regional expertise and highlighted its dedication to elevating the tourism sector through collaboration and strategic partnerships.

Yuthachai Charanachitta, CEO of ONYX Hospitality Group, articulated the group’s ambitions, “We aim to redefine the benchmarks of hospitality. Our active expansion and unwavering commitment to quality, society, and the environment demonstrate our dedication to leading the hospitality sector. Our focus on the MICE market – Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions, is a testament to our dynamic development strategies in a highly competitive landscape.”

At the heart of ONYX’s participation in ITB Asia was the Tailored Approach to Hospitality concept, a principle guiding its alliances and business development. This strategy has fostered trust among trade partners and underpinned ONYX’s successful ventures in the domestic and international markets.

ONYX oversees 44 properties across Thailand, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Maldives, Bangladesh, and Laos. With plans to expand to over 50 properties by 2025 and 70 by 2028, the group’s strategic focus remains on Southeast Asia, with an eye on new markets like Indonesia and Singapore. These expansion plans are aligned with ONYX’s mission to drive significant growth throughout the region.

2023 marked a significant year for ONYX with the opening of Amari Raaya Maldives and the upcoming launch of Amari Colombo Sri Lanka in 2024. The pipeline includes nine properties under the Amari, OZO, and Shama brands. This expansion reflects ONYX’s commitment to diversifying its portfolio and enhancing its global presence.

At ITB Asia 2023, ONYX’s focus on the MICE business was evident. Yuthachai Charanachitta highlighted, “The MICE business is rapidly gaining momentum in Asia Pacific. We’re poised to make a confident entry into this market, showcasing our hotels and resorts’ comprehensive services tailored for MICE activities.”

A particular highlight at the event was the unveiling the newly renovated Amari Bangkok. Symbolizing a hub of vibrant energy, the rebranded hotel aligns with the ‘Brighten Your World’ concept. The renovation has rejuvenated the hotel’s aesthetic, introducing contemporary decor, upgraded amenities, and new dining experiences. The addition of ‘Maai Spa,’ set to open in 2024, further cements Amari Bangkok Hotel’s status as a premier destination for travellers and MICE activities.

Amari Bangkok Hotel is complemented by ONYX’s other notable MICE and leisure travel projects, including Amari Don Muang Hotel, Amari Pattaya, Amari SPICE Penang, and Amari Kuala Lumpur. Showcased at ITB Asia 2023, these properties exemplify ONYX’s dedication to delivering exceptional guest experiences and contributing to sustainable, positive growth in a dynamic market.

In summary, ONYX Hospitality Group’s strategic vision, unveiled at ITB Asia 2023, positions it as a leader in sustainable tourism growth. With a keen focus on expansion, quality service, and environmental responsibility, ONYX is shaping Southeast Asia’s hospitality industry’s future and setting a global benchmark for excellence.
