In a strategic move that underscores the brand’s enduring appeal and commitment to global exploration, Cunard has announced an ambitious new chapter for its beloved Queen Elizabeth vessel. Beginning in 2026, the illustrious cruise ship will embark on year-round operations from North America, charting courses through the pristine waters of Alaska in the summer and cruising to the vibrant Caribbean from Florida in the winter.
This expansion caters to the sophisticated traveller seeking diverse experiences without compromising on the luxury and grandeur synonymous with the Cunard name. The announcement is a testament to Cunard’s dedication to global inclusivity, a sentiment echoed by Matt Gleaves, Commercial Vice President of North America & Australasia. He notes, “Welcoming guests from every corner will always be a key part of what makes Cunard special.”
The repositioning to North America does not signify a farewell to Cunard’s loyal guests in Australia and Japan. The Queen Elizabeth is currently en route to Australia, where she will begin her 2023/2024 homeport season on November 27. The region will continue to feature prominently in Cunard’s round-the-world voyages, even after the ship completes her scheduled 2024/2025 season in the Asia-Pacific.
What lies ahead is a rich tapestry of itineraries that promise to captivate even the most seasoned travellers. Gleaves shares the company’s excitement about the upcoming programs, unveiled in early 2024, “The new deployments are an exciting development.”
Cunard’s fleet, comprising four magnificent Queens, is poised to traverse the globe, offering an eclectic mix of familiar favourites and hidden treasures. With Mediterranean departures, Northern Europe explorations, and the famed Transatlantic crossings, the choices are as vast as the oceans.
The meticulous planning of future programs reflects Cunard’s commitment to delivering exceptional value and unique experiences. With this move, the cruise line reaffirms its position as a paragon of sea travel, continually setting new benchmarks for luxury, adventure, and the fine art of hospitality at sea.
As Cunard prepares to set sail into this exciting new horizon, Queen Elizabeth will not just navigate the physical waters of our planet but also the aspirations and dreams of her esteemed passengers.
