Think rats are nasty? Think again! WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo claims they’re home to the cutest rat in the world! Do you agree? They challenge you to find a cuter rat!
Five female Palyoora – also known as ‘plains rats’ or ‘the cutest rats in the world’ as dubbed by zoo keepers, have taken up residency in prime harbour-side Sydney real estate in Darling Harbour.
Tyler Whitehouse, Mammals Keeper – WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, commented, “While rodents aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, I challenge you to say these aren’t the sweetest rats you have ever seen! We are delighted to welcome these five new rats to the nocturnal zone at the zoo.”
WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo is so confident that these are the cutest rats in the world they’re offering a family pass and the chance to meet a keeper to anyone who can share a picture of a more adorable rat.*
It’s no ‘squeak-ret’, but did you know Australia is home to 60 species of native rodents? Australia is home to many unique, weird and wonderful creatures, including, rats and mice – who represent around 25 per cent of all species of Australian mammals.
Guests can scurry in to meet the latest arrivals in Nightfall, alongside many other iconic Australian animals while exploring 11 interactive zones during their visit to WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo. The zoo is open 7 days and located right next door to SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and Madame Tussauds Sydney.
