The team from Australasia’s premium global rail wholesaler, International Rail recently gathered face-to-face to celebrate a hugely successful triple growth revenue year as well as discussing 2024 goals and upcoming trade product and service launches.
The event held in Melbourne’s Southbank precinct, saw 18 team members from across Australia and New Zealand join in a variety of social activities- many having the chance to meet face to face for the first time.
Being a “premium one stop” shop for agents, offering a comprehensive range of global rail passes and tickets with a mainly online presence, it is often challenging to find the time for all team members to meet and interact in person says owner and managing director Jonathan Hume.
Hume said, “Being a dedicated online service provider, our business has proven that the combination of hybrid working spaces has increased not only productivity but agent support service access. With that in mind, I still feel it is critical for support teams such as ours to meet, reconnect and establish strong working relationships in person.
“2023 brought an unprecedent amount of work and with that the team has grown from six to 20 people in just one year. This was the first opportunity after the hectic high season to come together and confirm the groups position in the industry.
Amongst the social activities, the vision, and goals for 2024 were discussed with the main objective to be the first in agents mind in Australia and New Zealand when booking trains and ferries. There is a new direct booking connection for global ferries in the pipeline (watch this space!) as well a new booking service to assist agents with complex rail itineraries, which will greatly benefit the service between agents and their clients.
