In a world where the line between work and leisure blurs, the global vacation juggernaut, Club Med, under the umbrella of Fosun Tourism Group, made an unparalleled move, officially opening doors to the first-of-its-kind Club Med Urban Oasis Xianlin Nanjing Resort.
Parallelly, Xianlin Nanjing became the epicentre for future-gazing dialogues as Fosun Tourism Group hosted the Urban Vacation Development Forum. Delegates spanning government, tourism, and research congregated, dissecting upcoming paradigms in domestic cultural tourism.
According to Mr. Xu Xiaoliang, Chairman of Fosun Tourism Group, “The burgeoning need for vacations within the urban populace clashes with the dearth of premier urban resorts. Club Med’s Urban Oasis in Xianlin offers a refined vacation, blending Club Med’s international essence with Nanjing’s cultural richness.”
A short half-hour from Nanjing’s heart, Club Med’s urban masterpiece is ensconced amidst the city’s picturesque wonders like Purple Mountain and Tangshan Mountain. Just a stone’s throw from Huitong Road Station, it becomes the first metro-friendly Club Med establishment globally.
This urban gem houses an enthralling mix of amenities, including a heated water park, an interactive outdoor water light show, and the vivacious U Bar, catering to local families, adventure-seekers, and global travellers alike.
Vice Chairman and CEO of the Fosun Tourism Group, Henri Giscard d’Estaing, extolled, “Nanjing, with its verdant beauty and historical backdrop, sets the perfect stage for this unique venture. The Urban Oasis isn’t just a resort; it’s a testament to Nanjing’s potential as a trendsetting travel hub.”
The Urban Vacation Development Forum, themed “Reimagining Travel Consumption & The Urban Vacation Blueprint,” witnessed thought leaders sharing rich insights. Dai Bin, a luminary from the China Tourism Academy, emphasized the importance of harmonizing international and local cultural elements for a premium vacation experience.
Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Xu Xiaoliang highlighted, “Choosing Nanjing for our first Urban Oasis resort wasn’t arbitrary. Its unique blend of being both a travel hotspot and a powerful economic epicenter made it ideal.”
In a heartwarming ceremony, consuls from countries including France and South Korea presented signed T-shirts, symbolizing Club Med’s role as a beacon for international cultural exchanges.
Club Med’s roots in China are a shining testament to the synergy between France and China. Mr. Joan Valadou, Consul General of France in Shanghai, remarked, “With the 60th Sino-French diplomatic anniversary looming in 2024, the Xianlin resort’s inauguration is serendipitously symbolic.”
Amidst the celebrations, Club Med’s societal ethos shone brightly as they declared their charity initiative. Allying with the Fosun Foundation, for every booking received, Club Med pledges a donation to support rural doctors, underscoring their unwavering commitment to society’s betterment.
With its pioneering step in Nanjing, Club Med reaffirms its position as a visionary, molding the future of vacations while cherishing the roots of destinations.
