Air Canada has unveiled a new offer to fast track Australian travellers to Aeroplan 50K status while earning 50,000 Aeroplan points** – which could be enough for a ticket from Australia to North America*. The offer applies to new HSBC Star Alliance Credit Cards.
The HSBC Star Alliance credit card, which launched in 2022, is the world’s first global airline alliance credit card and also the first credit card that can elevate Aussie travellers to Star Alliance Gold Status. Now, Air Canada’s expanding the offer to get Aussies flying further,
faster.
Australians can use the limited time bonus of 50,000 Aeroplan points** to access over 1,300 destinations globally, with Air Canada offering the largest roster of airline partners in the world.
According to Air Canada’s General Manager of Australia and New Zealand, Vic Naughton: “We’re continuing to expand on our partnership with HSBC and Star Alliance airlines to help fly Aussies to every corner of the world with Aeroplan points.
The Aeroplan 50K Status and new 50,000 points** plus-up is matched by increased Air Canada route capacity from Australia, including daily flights to Vancouver from Sydney and Brisbane and increased flights from Sydney to Vancouver throughout December – meaning
savvy travellers could swap Aussie beaches for an epic Canadian ski season,” he said.

The new HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card unlocks a world of global travel benefits. Star Alliance Gold Status entitles cardholders to priority check-in, priority boarding and baggage handling, extra baggage allowance, access to over 1,000 airport lounges worldwide and more – no
