Putting Nature to the Test:
Unyoked and AllTrails Call for Participants for Global Nature StudyUnyoked, the pioneering nature start-up, and the world’s largest and most-used outdoor platform, AllTrails have announced a partnership with medical experts to uncover the scientific benefits of being in nature following increased rates of burnouts.

The collaboration will mark an innovative new experience putting this to the test by calling for participants across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom to participate in The Global Nature Study. Based around Unyoked’s unique off grid experience, with up to 100 complimentary stays on offer and a number of subsidised experiences.

The study will aim to uncover and raise awareness for the scientific benefits of time spent in nature, and how time outside can help manage the ups and downs of modern life.

Key physical and mental health indicators such as stress, creativity and sleep will be monitored while participants recharge off grid. Commentary from medical experts, including Dr. Suzanne Hackenmiller and Dr. Richard Fuller, will also be provided.

During the study, participants will be encouraged to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature by contributing to study in various ways, including:

– Enjoy an individual two-night stay in an Unyoked cabin
– Receive a 1-year free subscription to AllTrails+ to explore meditative routes and trails
– Unwind through grounding activities such as forest bathing, reading, outdoor yoga + listening to nature
– Complete qualitative surveys, using best-practice self-review tests for metrics being studied

With reports of high rates of burnout* and a lack of thriving at work**, the study will also reference recent research from AllTrails*** which found:
The average Australian is spending less than 1.5 hours outside a day (85mins)
Almost 1 in 5 (18%) getting less than 30 mins of outdoor time
Despite this, three-quarters (77%) believing that time outside is good for both mental and physical health
More than half of Aussies (59%) are more calm when they’re outside
Unyoked and AllTrails are set to release the findings of the Global Nature Study in early 2024, detailing the health and wellbeing effects of nature.
