Cebu PacificCebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading airline, yesterday announced exciting plans to expand its Australian services while offering travellers bargain-priced fares at a time when the cost of overseas travel continues to soar.

Speaking at an aviation and travel industry gathering in Sydney to mark the carrier’s 9thanniversary in Australia, airline spokesperson Carmina Romero said Cebu Pacific would increase its Sydney-Manila service to five weekly flights (up from the current four flights) while maintaining its Melbourne-Manila service at three weekly flights. The intention will be to increase the frequency on both routes over time.Cebu Pacific

“We are extremely pleased to be expanding our Sydney service, providing greater opportunity for travellers to visit the Philippines and experience some of the most picturesque destinations on earth across our 7000-island archipelago,” she said.

To celebrate the ninth anniversary, the airline also announced a limited fare of $249 one-way until the end of the month (30 September) – over 40% off the average price in the sector.

Cebu Pacific launched its brand in Australia in 2014 with flights to Sydney, followed by Melbourne flights in 2018. Forced to ground its fleet during the pandemic, the carrier resumed services to Sydney 12 months ago, followed by Melbourne in March this year.

The airline is one of the region’s longest-flying Low-Cost Carriers (LCCs), having established operations at its Manila base in 1996. It flies 72 Airbus planes to 35 domestic and 24 international destinations spanning Asia, the Middle East and Australia. Bookings can be made at www.cebupacificair.com.
