This autumn Crabtree & Crabtree introduces guests to delectably immersive culinary experiences from Stargazing Suppers and Scottish Cookery to Wild Dining and Coastal Foraging & Feasting.
Crabtree & Crabtree is delighted to announce the launch of their delicious new C&C Epicurean Experiences just in time for autumn on September 18, 2023. These authentically local culinary experiences are perfect for travelers who choose to delve into the local culture and cuisine. As the leading independent luxury vacation rental company, ranging from cozy cottages to posh castles throughout the North of England and South of Scotland, each C&C Epicurean Experience has been dreamt up in collaboration with a handful of their favorite local contacts, giving their guests the opportunity to get a true sense of these special regions.
New for Autumn 2023 will be six engaging C&C Epicurean Experiences, which will complement Crabtree & Crabtree’s recently launched educational and nature-based C&C Experiences. Ranging from Foraging & Feasting with a Beach Barbecue, Stargazing Suppers, Scottish Cookery Classes and Wild Dining to Cocktails in the Wilderness and Sommelier-led Cheese and Wine Tastings, all C&C Epicurean Experiences are region or property specific and will be offered to guests once they have booked their home as an appropriate add-on.

Coastal Foraging & Feasting
The North East Coast (England & Scotland)
Savor the very best of seaside dining with a coastal foraging and feasting experience led by wild dining experts Buck & Birch. Taking place on a scenic stretch of sand along the coastline between Seahouses, England and North Berwick, Scotland, guests will first forage for wild arugula, seaweed and shellfish such as razor clams, mussels and oysters, as the waves lap around their feet. They will then sit around an open fire to enjoy delicious canapes and a dinner of fresh seafood, which will include their foraged findings, cooked over the flames. For those really looking to get in the spirit of things, guests may add a Buck & Birch spirits tasting to sip their range of wild botanical spirits and liqueurs from hip flasks while wrapped in cozy blankets.
This experience costs from £90 per person (approx. $112 pp) based on a minimum of six persons. Smaller groups are welcome, but pricing will be adjusted. Guests are encouraged to wear wellington boots or suitable footwear if they do not want to forage barefoot.
East Lothian, Scotland
Crabtree & Crabtree is all about rewilding luxury, so sharing nourishing meals of organic, foraged food is our idea of perfection. Working together with Buck & Birch, a pioneering wild dining outfit based on the east coast of Scotland, C&C invites guests to rewild their culinary expectations with a curated menu of the finest, seasonal produce. Comprising of delectable dishes created from ingredients such as wild game, the freshest seafood and foraged delights, each meal is served with the elegance and creative flair of a fine dining restaurant. Expect a feast for the eyes and the senses with exciting cocktails and flavor combinations, each created to highlight the best of the season.
This experience costs £110 per person including drink pairings (approx. $137 pp) based on a minimum of six persons.
Cocktails in the Wilderness & Spirit of Wilderness Cocktail Masterclass
Rewild your drinking experience with a visit to Hepple Spirits. Exclusive to C&C guests, a private tour of the Hepple distillery will be followed by a fragrant botanical walk around the estate, looking at the wild juniper bushes and Douglas Fir trees that give the sprits their unique flavor, while concluding at a secret, hidden bar in the moors where guests will enjoy a tasting, a cocktail or a classic gin and tonic.
Guests may also opt for a private cocktail and oyster masterclass in their C&C home, whereby a local bartender will show how to serve up a perfect Hepple martini, which will be enjoyed alongside a plate of fresh oysters.
This experience costs £25 per person (approx. $31 per person) for groups of 10-15 guests for the Hepple distillery and estate tour. Pricing for tastings at guest C&C home will be depended on travel and group size.
As Northumberland is home to Europe’s largest Dark Sky Park, Crabtree & Crabtree invites guests to dine under the stars with an intimate moonlit supper and stargazing experience. Held in the garden of their C&C luxury home guests will be treated to an illuminating session by a local astronomer who will reveal constellations, planets, shooting stars and the Milky Way while partaking in a delectable three-course “dinner in the dark” menu. Specially created to be enjoyed in the inky dark, the menu comprises of dishes that masterfully balance taste, texture and aroma using ingredients such as chicken liver parfait, crispy shallots, torched mackerel, tangy gooseberries and popping candy.
This experience costs from £80 per person (approx. $100) based on a minimum of guests, and is only applicable to stays at Northumberland properties that are remote and large enough to host an al fresco dinner and astronomy session.
Scottish Cookery & Dining Experience
South of Scotland
Crabtree & Crabtree has always believed that one of the best ways of getting to know a destination is through its food. Working together with a local culinary school, C&C guests based in East Lothian and the Scottish Borders can get a flavor of their locality by learning to cook a delicious two or three-course menu from the comfort of their C&C home. Using the best local and seasonal produce, guests will whip up dishes such as venison wellington, wild mushroom ravioli and raspberry soufflé, and then dine on their culinary creations. Wine pairings may also be added to accompany meals.
This experience starts from £450 (approx. $562) with costs varying dependent on the number of guests and menu choices.
