Vietjet has become the first airline to accept surcharge-free payments using PayID on Australia’s New Payments Platform. In a remarkable demonstration of innovation, the Vietnamese carrier has surged ahead by introducing this pioneering payment option to passengers in Australia.
Customers accessing www.vietjetair.com or the Vietjet mobile app from Australia can enjoy the convenience of booking their flights with Vietjet using PayID. By booking Vietjet flights and paying in AUD currency, travellers can enjoy a seamless payment experience, free from any processing surcharges.
Vietjet’s PayID solution is powered by Australian fintech Azupay, a leading provider of payment solutions for businesses using Australia’s New Payments Platform.
“We are delighted to be offering PayID to travellers in Australia as a new payment option,” says Mr Nguyen Thanh Son – Executive Vice President of Vietjet. “We are steadfast in delivering exceptional experiences to our passengers, especially in the Australian market. PayID emerges as an excellent alternative to credit cards, and Azupay has proven to be an invaluable and dedicated partner in developing this cutting-edge payment solution.”
“It’s been a pleasure working with Vietjet and their banking partner, HSBC, to power their PayID solution for no surcharge payments,” adds John Murphy, CEO of Azupay. “We are always pleased to bring businesses on the real-time payments journey and commend Vietjet for taking this important step towards faster, smarter, and safer payment methods for Australian travellers.”
PayID presents airlines with an economical payment avenue. This enables airlines to offer their passengers PayID as a “fee-free” payment option. It is also universally accessible by anyone with an Australian bank account, with the vast majority of Australian banks offering the ability to make real-time payments through PayID for Vietjet’s tickets priced in AUD.
