Marking a premier position in South Gyeonggi, DoubleTree by Hilton Seoul Pangyo stands as the inaugural upscale full-service hotel and residence. This monumental launch amplifies Hilton’s global portfolio, boasting over 660 hotels, including nearly 100 in the Asia Pacific.

Vincent Ong, vice president of Full Service Brands, Asia Pacific, Hilton, commented on the brand’s legacy. “DoubleTree by Hilton has cultivated an ethos of genuine and approachable hospitality for over five decades. As we make our mark in Korea, our guests will savor the hallmark warmth epitomized by our iconic DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie.”

The Seoul Pangyo Hotel and Residence complex, a towering structure of 25 floors, stands out as the most expansive in southern Gyeonggi. With 432 plush hotel rooms and 170 elite residences, it mirrors the tranquillity of the lush local landscape through its neutral and muted design palette. Guests can expect sunlit modern interiors and exclusive access to the Executive Lounge in select rooms. The residences, a first of their kind in Seongnam, range from spacious studios to two-bedroom premium suites.

For gastronomes, the hotel promises a treat. ‘Nyx’ provides diners a celestial view of the Pangyo skyline, while ‘Demeter’ satisfies palates with its global buffet spread. Beyond dining, the property houses avant-garde event spaces, a fitness centre, a Pilates studio, a tennis court, and an immersive sauna.

The hotel’s general manager, Peta Ruiter, emphasized the dual offering: “From short business trips to extended leisure stays, our hotel and residence combo promises unparalleled comfort.”

One of the hotel’s unique features is its rooftop bee farm, a testament to its commitment to sustainability. This initiative not only aids bee conservation but also enriches the culinary menu with honey-infused delights, from honeycomb cocktails to exclusive afternoon tea sets. In line with the DoubleTree by Hilton’s ‘Do Good, Feel Good’ program, the hotel takes a step further, conducting weekly workshops for children, teaching them about the ecological significance of bees.

Moreover, in a pioneering move, the hotel is one of the first in South Korea to achieve Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certifications, guaranteeing sustainably sourced seafood.

This Seoul Pangyo debut is a part of DoubleTree by Hilton’s accelerated expansion in Asia. Recent milestones include the brand’s 50th property in Greater China and inaugural hotels in Japan’s Hokuriku and Kyoto. The forthcoming year, 2024, anticipates new properties in Jakarta, Osaka, and Vientiane.
