In a strategic move to recapture the soaring demand for incentive travel, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) astutely orchestrated a series of meticulously planned familiarisation tours, sparking significant interest from international agencies. This initiative saw over 160 MICE agents and corporate representatives from Mainland China, South Korea, and India descending upon Hong Kong. It offered them a firsthand immersive experience of the city’s latest offerings.

Kenneth Wong, the dynamic General Manager of MICE & Cruise at HKTB, emphasized Hong Kong’s rapid infrastructure and tourism offerings advancements. “Experiencing is believing. As the city has continuously rolled out new attractions, coupled with groundbreaking MICE products and substantial funding initiatives, it’s no wonder that our esteemed guests leave with nothing but admiration for our metropolis.”

A Symphony of New Experiences to Woo Visitors.

Highlighting Hong Kong’s diverse appeal, the recently inaugurated West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) proudly showcases two state-of-the-art museums – the Hong Kong Palace Museum and M+. These cultural hubs testify to the city’s dedication to fusing modernity with its rich heritage. Additionally, renowned attractions like the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Ocean Park Hong Kong, and the iconic Peak Tram have been reinventing their offerings to ensure constant spellbinding experiences for visitors.

Agents who partook in the fam trips were quick to express their admiration. Ms Nam Hyo Rim, a prominent figure in South Korea’s MICE industry, praised Hong Kong’s unique blend of Eastern and Western influences. At the same time, Ms Kong Yan from Mainland China was deeply impressed by the plethora of new experiences.

The city’s incentive packages have evolved to offer a mosaic of experiences catering to myriad tastes, from adrenaline-packed parties to serene outdoor retreats. Dipti Narvekar, a senior MICE manager from India, shared her excitement about the city’s vast array of party options. At the same time, Ms Liu Jun from Mainland China highlighted the delightful surprises waiting to be discovered on Lantau Island.

Reflecting on Hong Kong’s magnetic pull, 300 MICE groups have graced the city over the past half year, lured by its revamped attractions and multifaceted experiences. Among them was Mainland China’s renowned liquor brand, Luzhou Laojiao, which hosted a whopping 1,250 of its top distributors in Hong Kong in August alone.

“We are elated to host the first cross-boundary trip post-pandemic. The impeccable cross-boundary infrastructure between Hong Kong and Macao allows us to curate a rich and seamless travel journey for our valued partners,” commented a representative from Luzhou Laojiao.
