Batik Air announced a new exciting route from Kuala Lumpur to Naha, Okinawa, making it the airline’s fifth destination in Japan.

Further expanding Batik Air’s footprint in Japan, the four times weekly service via Taipei which commences on 16 August 2023, will develop a strong presence in the Japanese market with its 21x times weekly services to the cities of Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, and Okinawa. Additionally, this will also strengthen connectivity in its global network of more than 52 destinations.

Flight OD882 will depart from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 7.20 am via Taipei (TPE) and arrive at Naha, Okinawa (OKA) at 3.35pm. The return flight, OD883, will depart Naha, Okinawa at 4.35pm and arrive in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA T1) via TPE at 11.05pm.

Batik Air is offering a promotional economy class all-in one-way fare, starting as low as RM1,329 from Kuala Lumpur to Okinawa with 20kgs free checked in baggage allowance.

Operating on the new Boeing 737-8 with 180 seats, Batik Air also offers a selection of pre-purchased meals and additional baggage allowance at discounted rates. Meals and drinks are also available for sale on-board in all Batik Air flights.

Famously known as the ‘Hawaii of Japan’, Okinawa which is made up of more than 160 islands in the East China Sea, is a diversified island chain with a subtropical climate and a rich cultural past. In contrast to the bustling lifestyle of the major cities on the Japanese mainland, the island of Okinawa offers leisure travellers a more laid-back Japanese experience.

With this new route, Batik Air passengers will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of offerings with ease and convenience. From sports activities, adventurous hiking trails, mountain biking, culinary wonders for the foodie and many more family getaways, Okinawa presents something unique to all travellers.

Sakura season is in January and February which is another of the many added attractions.”
