Railbookers are seeing a spike in demand for travel in the latter half of 2023, with more than half of all bookings in the last six weeks departing before the end of December.
According to data beginning 1 July, nearly 54 percent of Railbookers’ bookings were for trips with departure dates in 2023. The trips are not just long weekend getaways either, with an average duration of eight nights for those same-year vacations.
Especially last-minute trips are even more appealing to Railbookers’ customers, with 85 percent of those vacations booked departing in July, August or September of this year. Among its Australia-based customers, Railbookers are seeing tremendous interest in Canada, Switzerland, France and Italy.
In response to the demand, Railbookers have recently extended its reservations department’s hours of operation, with Rail Experts available for instant quotes and bookings nearly around the clock.
Additionally, Railbookers have extended its flash sale through Friday, 18 August. Travelers can save up to $500 off any vacation Railbookers offers. In addition, travel agents who book a vacation departing in 2023 for their clients will continue to receive a gift card up to $100.
“The demand for last-minute bookings in 2023 is unbelievable, even as we head towards the final few months,” said President & CEO Frank Marini. “More than half of our trips booked in the last six weeks have been for travel in 2023. “With inventory on the train, hotels and sightseeing activities available, we make last-minute bookings easy for our travel agent partners and their clients.”
The Railbookers travel agent gift card incentive provides up to $100 in a gift card to agents for every booking of 10 or more nights for departure in 2023. Bookings of 7-9 nights receive a $50 gift card while a 3-6 night booking earns the agent a $25 gift card. All trips must depart during 2023 to be eligible for the gift card incentive.
