In an audacious move, Fiji Airways has upped the ante in global aviation by introducing its new A350-900XWB, aptly named “The Island of Beqa”. This trailblazing aircraft not only augments the airline’s capacity by a whopping 30,000 seats monthly but is also set to redefine long-haul flight experiences.
Joining the already impressive fleet of 20 aircraft, the Island of Beqa is the third A350 to be flagged under Fiji Airways. Notably, the national carrier is now the sole operator of this high-efficiency Airbus, making direct flights from Australia to Fiji.
Melburnians can now indulge in this novel experience, with direct A350 flights to Fiji slated to soar twice weekly. The burgeoning popularity of the Sydney-Nadi route hasn’t gone unnoticed, with the A350 servicing this path at least daily.
For the globetrotters, there’s even more in store. This state-of-the-art jet will connect Australians to key destinations, including Auckland, Hong Kong, San Francisco, and Vancouver, ensuring smoother global itineraries.
Statistical data emphasizes Fiji Airways’ pivotal role in tourism. Contributing to 70% of Fiji’s visitor influx, the airline has been the backbone of a sector that constitutes 45% of the nation’s GDP and the country’s largest employment source.
The airline’s visionaries are nothing short of optimistic about its future. CEO Andre Viljoen proudly stated, “Our relentless efforts since 2017 have paved the way for new generation aircrafts like the Airbus A350. With its remarkable fuel efficiency, substantial cargo capacity, and top-tier cabin comfort, it’s now the crown jewel of our fleet and a favourite among our customers.”
This isn’t just about flying farther but also flying smarter. Potential new destinations include Dallas, Seattle, Beijing, Shanghai, and Seoul.
Viljoen added, emphasizing the aircraft’s technical prowess, “With cutting-edge aerodynamics, next-gen engines, and lighter materials, there’s a 25% surge in fuel efficiency, drop in CO2 emissions, and operational costs, compared to its predecessors.”
But what’s a journey without some indulgence? Fiji Airways promises an unparalleled in-flight experience. Picture revamped menus with healthier options, a triple choice of hot meals for economy passengers, and a plethora of fresh fruit, salads, and desserts. Not to mention a top-tier entertainment portfolio featuring Disney & HBO blockbusters and soothing in-flight wellness content. Business class patrons can even stay connected with complimentary full-flight internet.
In a celebratory gesture, Fiji Airways is rolling out a global sale. Until 31st August 2023, travellers can avail of up to 15% off on return airfares for selected dates.
