Feed your brain at Beaker Street Festival (4th – 13th August) where science and art intersect. Come together with curious minds to hear talks from world-renowned scientists; get stuck into hands-on science experiments; and enjoy slick music and fine drinks at a speakeasy bar.

Also part of the Beaker Street Festival, the Nocturna weekend opens with the Dark Sky Dinner on Friday 11 August prepared by celebrated Tasmanian chef Lilly Trewartha, featuring music by renowned harpist Emily Sanzaro and talks by Dark Sky Tasmania’s Landon Bannister and Professor Barbara Holland.

During the month of August, the St Helens History Room will offer free entry to all visitors. Come in from the Tasmanian winter and experience a treasure trove of artefacts telling the tale of St Helens.

Wild Wellness on the Three Capes Track. Spend four life-shifting days (27th – 30th August) on the Three Capes Track, deep diving into nature, writing, walking and Wim Hof plunging. This August, join Alice and Piet for a wild trek along the Southern Hemisphere’s highest sea cliffs, to the world’s edge.

Chocolate Winterfest, Latrobe (13th August) will indulge, inform, astound, amuse but above all celebrate chocolate as you escape from the bleakness of winter. Be indulged by events individually or successively as you immerse in this chocolate experience.

Wash it all down with world-renowned whisky at Tasmanian Whisky Week (7th – 13th August). Sample delectable drams from talented Tasmanian distillers such as Turner Stillhouse, Hellyers Road Distillery and Waubs Harbour Whisky.

Experience the watery underground world of Tasmania’s wild caves this August. In winter, the rugged and undeveloped caves come to life with waterfalls and reflection pools.

Visit Paradise Road Farm and join the farm’s friendly goat family for a brisk morning walk (until 31st August). Rediscover your inner child and race the goats down the hill or make it a leisurely stroll.

Take a secluded forest bath and ice plunge in the Bay of Fires (until 31st August). Shinrin-Yoku is the Japanese art of healing through forest bathing. It is an immersive experience to reconnect with self and nature, offering health and wellbeing benefits for the mind, body and soul.
