The Emirates Skywards program, the airline’s reward scheme, reports that more than 60% of its loyal members who flew in Premium Economy in the past year are frequent Emirates customers. The promising popularity of the new service demonstrates the appeal of the service among both seasoned and first-time travellers.

Emirates currently deploys its Premium Economy-fitted A380s to 11 international destinations, including London Heathrow, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Christchurch, Singapore, Los Angeles, New York JFK, Houston, San Francisco, and Dubai. By the end of the year, this list will expand to include Mumbai and Bengaluru, with more cities announced in due course. Emirates is keen to offer more passengers the opportunity to experience this successful cabin class, with 20 aircraft currently fitted with the Premium Economy cabin, 14 of which were refitted by the in-house Emirates Engineering team in Dubai over the past nine months.

Over the past year, Emirates’ Premium Economy has clocked up close to 4,500 flights, covering more than 36 million kilometres around the globe. Passengers on these flights have enjoyed over 192,000 meals from specially curated menus featuring the finest ingredients and a range of indulgent treats. These include desserts with edible gold leaf and over 126,000 pieces of chocolate to complete meals. Additionally, 6,700 kilograms of mixed nuts and 8,650 litres of complimentary fresh lemon and mint juices were served, along with an exclusive sparkling Australian wine, Chandon Vintage Brut 2016.

This steadfast commitment to innovation and service excellence pays dividends for Emirates, as demonstrated by their receipt of numerous awards, including recognition at the 2023 Skytrax Awards, Business Traveller Awards, Airline Ratings Excellence Awards, and the 2022 Business Traveller Middle East Awards.

The airline has also been promoting its Premium Economy offering through a global campaign starring Academy Award-winning actor Penelope Cruz and hosting guided tours for media, influencers, trade partners, and officials across cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Christchurch, Singapore, New York JFK, and San Francisco.

Introducing the Premium Economy cabin class is part of Emirates’ multi-billion-dollar retrofit programme, which aims to upgrade the interiors of 67 A380s and 53 Boeing 777s. By the end of the programme, over 4,000 Premium Economy seats will be installed, accompanied by more than 700 First Class suites and 5,000 Business Class seats with the latest interiors.

For those who wish to experience Emirates’ Premium Economy, tickets can be booked through the Emirates website, the Emirates App, or the preferred travel advisor. It seems clear that with such success in its initial year, Emirates’ Premium Economy is set to become a cornerstone of the airline’s customer offering.
