The Business Events Sunshine Coast (BESC) team delivered one of Sydney’s warmest ever July days when operators from the region took over Sydney venue Terrace on the Domain for the first of its ‘Sunshine Soiree” networking events last week.
Over 50 of Sydney’s leading PCOs, corporate, government, association, and incentive event buyers and agencies attended the soiree, networking with 14 Sunshine Coast operators, who showcased the region’s “natural” advantages for hosting premium conferences, events, and bespoke incentives.
The operators came from across the Sunshine Coast and included neighbouring K’Gari. The event was arranged and coordinated by BESC’s Ali Thompson and Michelle Burgum, with popular Sunshine Coast breakfast radio host, Sam Coward as MC, delivering his naturally sunny repartee and extensive local destination knowledge.
A wide range of prizes were offered providing even greater incentive for delegates to explore the region first-hand.
The Sydney Soiree is the first of the Business Events Sunshine Coast soiree series. Soiree events are scheduled to be held for the Brisbane/south east Queensland market at Australia Zoo on 1 September, and in Melbourne at the end of October.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better afternoon and a better audience to showcase our range of ‘sunny suppliers’,” said BESC Business & Leisure Events Manager, Ali Thompson. “We had representation from across our business events community including accommodation, venue, attractions and tour operators.
“The feedback was very positive and the timing perfect as the meeting and incentive market is gathering momentum and our rich diversity of product options and ease of accessibility makes the Sunshine Coast a premium destination for business events. .
“We are looking forward to welcoming delegates to our Brisbane and Melbourne soirees over the next few months.”
