Summertime is vacation time. For those with school-age children, this is exactly the time to be on the road with the family. While holidays usually mean adventure and fun for the children, they can be exhausting for their parents. It’s helpful if the chosen accommodation is tailored to families with children and keeps the kids busy with an exciting activity program. This allows the parents to find some peace and quiet as well.
Supervised children’s programs in sustainable hotels
While the adults relax in the infinity pool or the panoramic sauna overlooking the sea at the ADLER Spa Resort SICILIA, the children can enjoy themselves in the AKI Kids Club. In addition to games, arts and crafts sessions and sports, the Sicilian spa hotel’s program also includes nature-related activities. The main focus is on the sea and its inhabitants, especially the sea turtles, who lay their eggs directly on the beach before the hotel. But the island’s unique culture is also a highlight – the little ones (from 4 years) learn about agricultural history (e.g. cheese production, a farm visit, etc.) or typical plants and their uses in a way that is suitable for children.
For participants in the ADLER Friends program, there is also an extra family package where children under 14 stay free of charge.
At the Seefeld Hotel Klosterbräu, the children’s activity program is always linked to the magnificent nature of the Alps. The aim of the carers is always to teach even the youngest children to be mindful of nature while having fun discovering it. This year, there are some special activity weeks, such as the farm week starting on 25 August. During this week, children from the age of six will explore the hotel’s own vegetarian farm, Sigis Sauhaufen, and learn what it means to keep animals (including feeding them and cleaning the barn), and what you can make from the products. For example, they can make their own pasta or preserves.

In addition to the particular activity weeks, the supervisors are constantly creating new themes and activities. The setting for it all: Lovingly furnished playrooms, the outdoor playground and, of course, the extensive nature park around the hotel.
By the way, there is also a youth playroom with pinball, billiards, and PlayStation.
Fun and games for young and old.
The CERVO Mountain Resort in Zermatt hosts the CERVO Summer Fäscht in August, and the mountain resort cordially invites you to attend. Besides delicious food and cool drinks, a flea market and other activities await guests and families.
The Keemala on the Thai island of Phuket is not directly geared towards travellers with children and does not offer separate childcare. Nevertheless, the team is always happy when children are present. Every Sunday, there is a cooking workshop where children can participate with their parents!
Away from the holidays, the Naturresort Gerbehof is reserved for adults, but the hosts are happy to welcome families with children during the holiday season. During this time, children can explore the farm and the surroundings, and pony rides are also on offer.
Children are welcome at Casa León Royal Retreat in Gran Canaria all year round, but occupancy is more flexible during holidays. Outside of the “family weeks”, the team emphasises a quiet atmosphere in the hotel. During the family weeks, things can get a bit busier. The garden rooms have direct access to the shared terrace and garden and are particularly popular.
Gut Nisdorf, with its large garden, spacious family flats, playground, and natural bathing pond, offers perfect conditions for a family holiday. In addition, you can hire play equipment such as Kett-cars, which are only a few minutes from the Baltic Sea. Relaxation for parents and children is a top priority here, and thanks to the breakfast service that can be booked as an extra and the ability to socialize with other local families easily, it is almost guaranteed.
