QT Hotels & Resorts are thrilled to announce Joel Gordon’s appointment as General Manager of QT Canberra, in turn marking his return to EVT.
This announcement is timed with Joel reaching the significant milestone of 20 impressive years in the hospitality industry. His passionate and results-driven approach has played a vital role in his success across leadership positions within the luxury hotel and resort sector.
Beginning his career in Queensland, Joel gained valuable experience at esteemed five-star establishments including the Palazzo Versace and Sofitel Brisbane Central, starting as Assistant Manager. Joel first joined EVT in 2008 as a Senior Duty Manager making his mark at Rydges South Bank Brisbane. In 2013 as General Manager, Joel spearheaded the then emerging Atura Hotels, which under his leadership went on to receive several awards such as, Australia’s Best Mid-Range Accommodation at the 2014 Australian Hotel Association Awards for Excellence. Honing in his expertise as an industry leader, Joel has since continued on an upward protectory with his career as Hotel General Manager for Doma Hotels, Canberra, in 2016, and most recently Regional General Manager for Crystalbrook Collection, Queensland.
Expressing his enthusiasm for his new role, Joel states, “I am ecstatic to rejoin the EVT portfolio, where I’ll have the privilege of working with such a unique brand like QT. As I assume my leadership role, I am particularly excited about returning to Canberra. I am eager to leverage my understanding of the local market and guiding this exceptional group of individuals.”
