This week, sustainable travel specialist Byway has announced a partnership with accommodation expert Sawday’s to launch new flight-free trips in the UK and Europe.
Byway and Sawday’s share a vision of bringing slow travel into the mainstream, offering holidays that focus on enjoyment and quality of experience rather than speed. These two members of the Travel by B Corp association are joining forces to help travellers discover and explore destinations like Cornwall, the South of France and Italy on a deeper level, without ever having to set foot in an airport – or airport queue! The partnership includes jointly designed trips, complete with overground travel, handpicked accommodation and expert advice, with prices starting from £1,045 per person for a 6-day holiday.

The partnership coincides with a sharp increase in customer demand for sustainable travel; according to a report from WTTC, 69 per cent of travellers are actively seeking sustainable travel options for 2023. Byway’s own data reveals that when people try flight-free travel, they are more likely to adopt that behaviour again in the future: 94% of Byway customers (the majority of whom usually fly for holidays) say they would book another Byway trip or refer a friend on homecoming (% who scored 8+/10 on when asked how likely they were to refer or rebook with Byway after returning from their trip, all time average).
