Hamburg, Germany, is set to become a pivotal venue in cruise tourism as Seatrade Europe unveils its dazzling lineup of influential industry panellists for the 2023 State of the European Cruise Industry Keynote. This groundbreaking event, taking place 6-8 September 2023, will gather over 300 high-ranking cruise executives and 250+ exhibitors from across the continent to delve into the theme of “Scaling Sustainably.”
The conference opens on 6 September 2023 with a riveting keynote session. An assembly of industry stalwarts from across Europe will join a discourse centred on this year’s theme, with Mary Bond, Group Director of Seatrade Cruise, moderating. The panel is expected to provide deep insight into the future of the cruise industry, discussing current market scenarios, prospective growth trends, and sustainability strategies.
Felix Eichhorn (President, AIDA Cruises), Hervé Gastinel (CEO, PONANT), Marie-Caroline Laurent (Director General, CLIA Europe), Michael McCarthy (Chairman, Cruise Europe), and Wybcke Meier (CEO, TUI Cruises) will form the illustrious panel.

On 7 September, the focus will shift to river cruising in collaboration with River Cruise Europe & IG Rivercruise. This segment will feature insights from operators, charterers, suppliers, and destination managers about the future trajectory of river cruising in Europe and beyond. The emphasis will be on understanding the nuances that differentiate river cruising from ocean cruising and assessing the current state and future outlook of river cruising in Europe.
Additionally, attending Seatrade Europe will grant access to MARINE INTERIORS Cruise & Ferry Global Expo, a first-of-its-kind standalone trade fair in Europe. This co-located event will explore emerging cruise and ferry trends, such as interior design, outfitting, technology, and sustainability solutions, offering 12 hours of additional content.
In anticipation of the keynote event, Seatrade Europe now welcomes registrations, expecting to host over 5,000 attendees from more than 40 countries.
