Celebrating the achievements and craft of Tasmanian distillers. Tasmanian Whisky Week (TWW) is a celebration of the numerous Tasmanian distilleries, their spirits and whisky. Promoting Tasmania as Australia’s foremost whisky region and recognising the importance of Tasmanian spirits. This is an event produced by the Tasmanian Whisky and Spirits Association (TWSA).
Tasmanian Whisky Week 2023 will be launched at Bluestone Bar, Launceston on Thursday 22 June with media invited to attend from 3.00pm to 4.00pm. The launch will be followed by a consumer dinner at Bluestone Bar.
Head Distiller, Chris Condon of Launceston Distillery will be speaking at the event alongside other well known Tasmanian distillers and tourism industry representatives. The launch of Tasmanian Whisky Week coincides with the release of Launceston Distillery’s ‘The Winter Solstice 2’.
Since the inaugural event in 2016, Tasmanian Whisky Week has now grown to include over 40 distilleries participating in events held across the north and south of the state attracting interstate and international guests.
This year the industry is celebrating 31 years of distilling in Tasmania, with the first license granted to Bill and Lyn Lark in 1982. Tasmania is the whisky destination of Australia, and Tasmanian Whisky Week is the event to celebrate.
We invite you to join us at the launch of Tasmanian Whisky Week on 22 June with an opportunity to speak directly with representatives from this high-profile industry, discover their stories and more about how TWW and the Tasmanian Whisky and Spirits industry is contributing to Tasmania’s visitor economy.
