In a groundbreaking move set to redefine the business events landscape, the Australian Business Events Association (ABEA) is gearing up for its highly anticipated launch on July 3, 2023. With a mission to foster inclusivity and engagement across all industry sectors, ABEA has revealed its Membership Prospectus, a comprehensive framework designed to cater to businesses’ diverse needs and sizes.
At the heart of ABEA’s vision lies a commitment to amplifying the voices of every sector within the business events industry. To achieve this, the association has strategically established State and Territory Chapters, Sector Pillars, and Special Interest Groups, inviting members to participate and contribute actively.
The Sector Pillars will cover various crucial aspects, including venues, suppliers, organizers, destination bureaux, and tourism. Complementing these pillars are the Special Interest Groups, which will delve into pertinent issues such as sustainability, emerging leaders, WH&S/risk, education, skills, and pathways. By facilitating deep dives into specific areas, ABEA aims to effectively gather market intelligence, address challenges, and support advocacy efforts.
Peter King, Chair of ABEA, emphasized the significance of acknowledging businesses’ diverse needs and challenges within the network. He stated, “For our industry to thrive, it is essential to recognize the wide variety of businesses that contribute to the business events ecosystem. By tailoring membership options to accommodate these unique experiences, we can foster sustainable growth for the entire sector.”
ABEA’s Membership Prospectus offers three tiers of membership: Platinum, Gold, and Silver. Platinum membership, aimed at large businesses seeking active involvement in the association’s advocacy, policy development, and research, grants exclusive access to networking opportunities, business promotion, and top-tier training and education.
On the other hand, Gold Membership caters to medium-to-large businesses, providing them with a platform to contribute directly to key industry submissions and shape policy directions. With three tiers, businesses can select the level of involvement that best suits their needs.
Small businesses and sole traders are not left behind. ABEA’s Silver Membership comprises four tiers tailored to their requirements, allowing them to have a say in industry direction, actively participate in its development, and avail themselves of essential member services and promotional support that facilitate growth.
Nicole Walker, Director of ABEA, expressed the association’s unwavering commitment to serving the entire business events industry. “We have meticulously created a structure that ensures every voice is heard, fostering an environment where challenges are met collectively, and successes are celebrated together,” she said.
