The iconic entryway to Australia’s favourite theme park is about to undergo a highly anticipated revitalisation, with construction works officially commencing this week to pave the way for The Dreamworld Flyer.

Early site works have been wrapped up in preparation for construction to commence this week from Tuesday June 6th, marking the start of the over $6 million attraction being bought to fruition.

Set to send guests tilting and spinning into the sky, The Dreamworld Flyer is currently planned to open alongside the famous Dreamworld Globe later this year, establishing the arrival of a new era for the park.

The newest jewel in Dreamworld’s crown is also set to shine bright after dark, providing a glowing light display for all Dreamworld Night Market visitors to see. The attraction will also be surrounded by fountains, set to provide a renewed and fresh entryway for all guests that pays homage to the site’s history.

The commencement of construction follows Dreamworld’s $55 million investment announcement in November last year, which will see the new attraction follow the refreshed Kenny and Belinda’s Dreamland children’s area opening and Ocean Parade expansion opening in late 2023, and precede the all new Rivertown precinct due to open in late 2024.

Dreamworld’s CEO, Greg Yong, says the start of construction signifies a new beginning for the park, tailored towards current and future generations.

“The commencement of construction on the Dreamworld Flyer marks a significant milestone for the park, as another piece in our puzzle begins to come to life. It’s exciting to see our investment into the park well underway and I can’t wait to unveil a renewed entryway into Australia’s favourite theme park, for all guests and visitors to enjoy for years to come,” said Mr Yong.

“A new legacy will rise with an ode to the iconic history of the park since its inception in 1981. We’re dedicated to always improving our guest experience and thinking of new and fun attractions we can invest in, so our community and future generations can continue to enjoy the best Dreamworld has to offer.”

Construction is estimated to complete later this year, with the attraction officially set to open in late 2023.
