Virtuoso®, the leading global network specialising in luxury and experiential travel, concluded its highly anticipated On Tour, Destination Days in Sydney this week. The event brought together more than 300 luxury travel advisors across Australia and New Zealand for two days of immersive product experiences, networking and professional development.

This On Tour marked a significant milestone for Virtuoso, as it was the first event to utilise an exhibition-style format. Set across six destination-based pavilions at the International Convention Centre, Virtuoso advisors engaged directly with 36 preferred partners who showcased the best product experiences available from tourism boards, on-sites, tour operators and cruise lines. Through these presentations, luxury travel advisors deepened their knowledge and enhanced their expertise in crafting extraordinary travel experiences for their discerning clientele.

Another event highlight, the Advisor Appreciation Party, was held to express gratitude and recognise the dedication and commitment of the Virtuoso advisor network. This celebratory evening was a testament to the strong bond between Virtuoso and its advisors and an acknowledgement of their invaluable engagement in recent years.

“Our advisors are busier than ever, but they take the time to continue furthering their partner relationships and industry education, and we celebrate that commitment to their craft, their clients and to this network,” said Virtuoso General Manager, Australia& New Zealand; Fiona Dalton.

A Professional Development Deep Dive was also held before the main event, the first in the region since before the pandemic. Led by the network’s dedicated Professional Development and Training Specialist, Michele Duncan, the “Life Lives in Language; Why Should I Book With You?” session aimed to equip advisors with the necessary tools and confidence to address challenging questions commonly asked by clients. Topics covered included booking direct vs online, competition from other providers and managing professional service fees.

Virtuoso continues to welcome luxury travel advisors who aspire to take their careers to the next level. In response to increasing demand, Virtuoso has recently launched its own proprietary Advisor Recruitment Program in Australia and New Zealand for those interested in joining a member agency.
