The B Group, specialising in Tourism and Hospitality developments, is set to launch a new luxury accommodation membership program aimed at creating unforgettable experiences for its members with Kitea Hotel, a luxury accommodation offering located in the heart of Wanaka in New Zealand’s South Island.
Launching in June 2023, the first-of-its kind tokenised membership will offer digital nomads, adventure seekers and bold team leaders access to an array of benefits and inclusions, such as an allocation of room nights, use of their green fleet of Audi e-Tron vehicles during stay, and long list of culinary and adventure experiences, creating the ultimate work and play base.
Set to open mid 2024, Kitea, which means “discovered/found” in Māori, features 35 impeccably styled rooms, a ground-level restaurant and a rooftop bar. An internal guest and member-only courtyard includes a conversation pit, pizza ovens, barbecues, petanque pit and outdoor kitchen gardens, while a beautiful internal private lounge with open fireplace and luxury kitchen, beckons guests to indulge in all the luxuries of home. Set against the spectacular backdrop of New Zealand’s Southern Alps, adventure activities available to members include mountain bike riding, use of the hotels picnic boats on the lake, and paddle boarding, with more laidback experiences such as chef-led pizza-making sessions using fresh produce from the garden also all a part of the membership experience.
The B Group was founded by a diverse group of creative minds, led by Andrew McIntosh, an entrepreneur, investor, media network owner, adventurer, photographer and tourism operator who has a passion for entertaining.
Flexible working conditions and the rise of the digital nomads, lead McIntosh and the B Group team to develop this unique membership concept.
“With work-life balance more important than ever, both individuals and companies are seeking flexible working arrangements that allow them to expand their surroundings, enhance productivity and feel inspired whilst maintaining the headspace to manage a productive working practise no matter where they are in the world. The Kitea membership concept has been created with this in mind, where the personal and professional growth opportunities and savings outweigh any financial outlay,” McIntosh said.
Kitea will be the first of its kind, luxury accommodation membership concept sold on the blockchain, offering a secure, personalised and cost-effective travel experience, leveraging the technology to ensure every transaction is tamper-proof, efficient and transparent, as well as allowing members to resell their membership should their plans change.
B Group did not initially begin with a focus on property development in the travel and hospitality space, however organically transitioned to build bespoke developments.
“When we started seeking hotel and hospitality sites for the company we were unable to find suitable buildings, ultimately we decided it was better to create purpose-built facilities. We now build bespoke developments to house our business operations, and through our membership program invite lovers of luxury travel and the awe-inspiring adventure New Zealand has to offer, to be a part of the B Group journey, beginning in beautiful Wanaka.”
“In designing a building, we collaborate with some of the best in the business, from architects to artists, interior designers to builders. It’s fair to say we are rather passionate about the spaces we create and get excited when we find talented people that share our passion,” he said.
The opening of Kitea in Wanaka is only the beginning for B Group as the company continues to create new concepts that meet the brand’s philosophy and criteria. Among those include Waimarino Lodge in Queenstown, set to launch a similar membership late 2023 and with opening planned 2025. Setting a new benchmark in premium accommodation, the debut property, Kitea, is a stunning representation of B Group’s commitment to creating lasting, luxurious experiences for members and guests.
