Delta Air Lines is back in the capital region with a non-stop connection from BER to JFK Airport in New York. The US airline is taking off from BER Airport for the first time and will be flying to the US East Coast metropolis every day during the summer flight schedule.

Aletta von Massenbach, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: “For many people from the arts, culture and business, being able to move quickly, directly and at any time between New York and Berlin is essential. Therefore, I’m delighted to welcome Delta Air Lines, a long-standing partner of the airport company in Tegel, with this important connection now at BER. It’s vitally important to us to be able to continue the good cooperation with Delta at BER.”

Nicolas Ferri, Delta Vice President Europe, Middle East, Africa and India: “The revival of our non-stop service from Berlin to New York, like the rebuilding of our entire Germany-USA network, was a top priority for Delta. Berlin is extremely popular with our American guests. Demand for flights from Berlin to the USA is also very high. We are excited to fly from Berlin Brandenburg Airport for the first time and connect the destination to our Terminal 4 at JFK. Ten new gates with modern and spacious seating areas and the latest technology for easy check-in and baggage handling have been built there as part of our multi-billion-dollar investment programme.”

Delta Air Lines in Berlin
From 2005 to 2011, Delta Air Lines connected Berlin with JFK Airport in New York from Tegel Airport. From September 2011, there was an interruption lasting several years before beginning again from Tegel in 2017. Flight operations were then suspended in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic, which lasted until Friday’s new start at BER.
