Travel tips that could enhance your experience and save time before security at the airport:
1. Check in:
Use the American mobile app to check in beginning 24 hours before your flight.
2. Save your boarding pass:
Save your boarding pass to your digital wallet for easy access at the airport.
3. Add bags:
Avoid lines at the airport and pay for up to three checked bags in the American mobile app or on aa.com. You may qualify for complimentary bags based on your AAdvantage® or oneworld Alliance® status or through your cobranded credit card.
4. Tell us how to get in touch:
If you’re an AAdvantage member, set up communication preferences in your account profile. American can easily update you if your flight schedule changes due to something like weather. You can receive notifications through the app, email and text.
5. Request special assistance:
If you need special assistance while traveling, you can request it online. Request wheelchair assistance, add a carry-on pet to your trip and more.
6. Print your bag tag:
When you arrive at the airport, scan your boarding pass at any American kiosk to receive your bag tags. Follow the instructions on the tags to attach them to your bag, then drop them with an agent.
Look for American’s Express Bag Tag kiosks available at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (and rolling out to more airports soon). These slimmed-down kiosks take only seconds to print your bag tag and get you on your way even faster.
7. Chat live:
Have a question while you’re traveling? Instead of waiting in line at the airport or on the phone, connect with us in a live chat session on the American app where you can get 24/7 virtual help for quick answers to your travel questions.
8. Relax in a lounge:
After clearing security, relax and unwind in the Admirals Club® lounge before your flight. Enjoy complimentary snacks, house drinks and Wi-Fi. Lounge members can access the lounge with their digital membership card, available in the American Airlines mobile app. Eligible customers, including those flying on Flagship® First or Flagship® Business tickets, can experience American’s Flagship® Lounges.
9. Catchup in flight:
Once you’re onboard, sit back and enjoy American’s free inflight entertainment library with more than 10,000 hours of movies, TV shows and music. You can stream content directly to your device. Upgraded, high-speed Wi-Fi is available for purchase on select flights. Select T-Mobile customers can also access complimentary Wi-Fi on select flights.
