Spread the love

From meeting the love of his life under an April pink moon on Great Keppel Island, to having an authentic appreciation for the place in which he now calls home, independent singer-songwriter, and two-time Golden Guitar Award winner, Brad Butcher, is about to become the next lyrical advocate for our stunning destination.

Set to release in September 2023, Brad’s sixth studio album, East of Everything shares 11 tracks which take listeners on a journey of life, love, gratitude, friendship, and family, with inspiration derived during time spent on the Capricorn Coast.

“I had the pleasure of co-producing this album with multi-instrumentalist Benjy Pocock and Grammy winning producer Marc Swersky (Bodyguard soundtrack – Whitney Houston), and strings player, Dave Eggar, who delivered the iconic intro to Coldplay’s Viva La Vida has also weaved his magic within my latest album,” Brad said.

“East of Everything is extremely close to my heart as it tells the stories of how I have arrived at this point in my life.”

“It is full of indebtedness for my hometown of Mackay and my ‘now local’ the Capricorn Coast for giving me a resting place to call home and a bright future.”

Brad was hanging out with good mates Tom Busby and Jeremy Marou (aka Busby Marou) on Great Keppel Island back in 2019 when he met his now wife of two years, Katie in a chance meeting.

Returning to Fisherman’s Beach to tie the knot in 2021, Brad not only welcomed Katie to his life, but two stepdaughters.

Welcoming their first daughter together in June 2020 and their second in September 2021, the talented solo artist soon had many reasons to smile and has managed to proudly capture numerous of these special moments within his lyrics.

“Music is storytelling at its finest and it certainly helps to have life experiences under your belt,” Brad said.

“My life certainly wasn’t always high tides and sunshine, but I look back on the formative years fondly as we can’t celebrate the highs without the lows.”

Ready to hit the road throughout June to support Busby Marou’s Tiny Towns Tour, Brad is thrilled to share his music via intimate shows to those who aren’t spoiled with regular live music.

“We are kicking off at the Chinchilla RSL on 2nd June, and will then head to Charleville, Ilfracombe, D’Aguilar, Bowen, Lucinda, Port Douglas, Biloela, before wrapping up in Walloon,” Brad said.

“I am looking forward to touring with my mates, hitting the stage, and sharing songs from the new album.”

Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll congratulates Brad on his upcoming album release, knowing full well how incredibly fortunate we are to live in this beautiful part of the world, which strongly supports the music industry.

“We have numerous gifted artists stemming from the Capricorn Coast, Rockhampton and Central Queensland Highlands,” Mary said.

“Our live music venues and major events such as the upcoming CQ University Village Festival, consistently supports local talent in following their dreams and expanding their musical identity.”

“We have no doubt that Brad’s new album is going to shine, and we are so thrilled that he has managed to capture the raw beauty of our destination within,” Mary said.
