The delegation, led by Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City Tourism, comprised Vietnam Airlines as the Official Airline and over 20 renowned travel businesses and hotels. From May 10 to May 18, 2023, the delegation embarked on an immersive journey, showcasing the unique cultural and tourism offerings of Vietnam’s vibrant Ho Chi Minh City to eager Australian audiences.
The ‘Roadshow Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City Tourism in Sydney’ was held on May 12, 2023, and attracted 150 travel businesses from New South Wales. This event, recognized as one of Australia’s largest tourism promotional gatherings, provided a platform to highlight the historical sites, natural attractions, and delectable local cuisine that make Ho Chi Minh City an enticing destination for Australian travellers.
Continuing their successful roadshow, the delegation arrived in Melbourne on May 15, 2023, for the ‘Roadshow Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City Tourism in Melbourne.’ The event, hosted at The Crown Promenade Hotel, captivated the attention of over 120 guests representing Victoria’s travel industry. Attendees were treated to an array of exclusive publications, gifts, and cultural activities, allowing them to experience the essence of Ho Chi Minh City firsthand. Ms Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, personally invited Australian travel experts, urging them to visit the city and immerse themselves in its rich traditional values and dynamic modern atmosphere.
On May 17, 2023, the Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City Delegation engaged in constructive meetings with the Queensland Department of Tourism, Innovation, and Sport. The aim was to explore partnership opportunities to enhance tourism and cultural exchange between Queensland and Ho Chi Minh City. The recent announcement by Vietjet regarding new routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne and Sydney, as well as a new direct flight to Brisbane commencing on June 16, 2023, further solidifies the growing connection between Australia and Vietnam, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
As an integral part of the roadshow, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism invited all attendees to join the highly anticipated ITE HCMC 2023.
