SunKiss, a UAE-based developer of sustainable and environmentally friendly suncare products, has partnered with SuperYacht Eco to distribute its full range of products to yachting clients worldwide. SuperYacht Eco is a leading supplier of plant and mineral-based cleaning and personal body care formulations to the yachting industry, focusing on reducing single-use plastics by using ocean-friendly refill systems.

The partnership will enable SunKiss to extend its reach into Europe and the Caribbean, supporting the growing demand for eco-friendly and ocean-friendly products in the yachting sector. Since launching in 2020, SunKiss has been working towards reducing plastic usage in the yachting industry by using unique recyclable aluminium bottles for its sunscreens and aftersun care products. The company also offers bespoke made-to-order refill dispensers, which help to reduce waste and save space on board.

In addition to its range of sustainable suncare products, SunKiss has developed Eco Refill, a range of bathroom amenities in professional sizes that use 95% less packaging than standard-sized products. The company has also launched a range of environmentally friendly turn-down gifts, including aftersun gel and moisturiser, lip balm, and hand care nourishment.

Joanna Barclay, Managing Director of SunKiss, said that the company’s goal has always been to provide a product that eliminates single-use plastic waste and creates a safer marine environment. SunKiss is the only company in the world that can facilitate bulk orders of sunscreen and aftersun, which are then used to refill the sustainable aluminium bottles used by both guests and crew onboard.

The luxurious formula of SunKiss products uses zinc and titanium oxide to create a microscopic mirror to reflect harmful rays and offers the highest sun filter available from plants. The products are eco-friendly, vegan, alcohol, and paraben-free, making them safe and suitable for all requirements.

Hannah Russell, Head of Sales for SuperYacht Eco and founder of Viveco Yachts, said that the problem they faced when trying to find a sunscreen that met their criteria was that there was always an element lacking. Even when the product and production were good, it wouldn’t be refillable, or the packaging didn’t have the luxurious look and feel required on a yacht. Sunscreen is an absolute necessity onboard, so for them to offer a product that is good for people and the planet is a win-win.

The collaboration between SunKiss and SuperYacht Eco is a step forward in the yachting industry’s efforts to become more sustainable and eco-friendly. Refillable, sustainable aluminium bottles and ocean-friendly refill systems for cleaning and personal care products can significantly reduce waste and single-use plastics onboard.

In conclusion, SunKiss and SuperYacht Eco’s partnership is a significant milestone in the yachting industry’s journey towards sustainability. Using sustainable and environmentally friendly suncare products and ocean-friendly refill systems can help reduce waste and single-use plastics onboard, creating a safer marine environment.
