Locke, the lifestyle aparthotel brand, is set to open its sixth property in London, the Ember Locke, in July 2023. The property will be located in the exclusive Kensington and Chelsea neighbourhood. It will have 121 apartments spread across eight floors, offering guests a range of options from studios to duplex one-bedroom apartments. In addition to a coffee shop, bar, restaurant, small stage for live performances, co-working space, meeting room, and garden, the hotel will also feature a gym and laundry room.
The location is rich in culture and is within walking distance of some of London’s most famous museums, including the Natural History Museum, the V&A, the Science Museum, and the Design Museum. Prominently situated on the historic Cromwell Road, Ember Locke is perfectly positioned to offer a sophisticated stay in one of the most desirable areas of London.
Designed in collaboration with creative and interior design studios Atelier Ochre and House of Dré, the hotel’s inspiration comes from the late Kensington Roof Gardens and the iconic mid-century fashion brand Biba, born in Kensington’s bohemian fashion scene in the 1960s. The warm and distinctive interiors of the hotel welcome guests and provide solace from the bustle of Cromwell Road.
The apartments have been curated as boudoir rooms with colourful tones, luxurious materials, vibrant patterns, and Art Deco details. The interiors offer a nostalgic reimagination of over a decade of glamour in Kensington, with elements of glamour evident throughout with brass detailing, fringes, tassels, and heavy dividing curtains ensuring a sophisticated feel to the apartments.
