Pacific 19 Kona, a brand-new design-forward boutique hotel, has opened its doors to welcome visitors and locals seeking authentic experiences on Hawaii Island. The hotel, managed by Springboard Hospitality, features 122 rooms and is located on the Big Island, on the 19th parallel that connects the Pacific Ocean from east to west.
The hotel’s inspiration comes from the Pacific, home to many places, cultures, and people. The founders of Pacific 19 Kona want to create a fresh concept for Hawaii Island by being the guests’ base camp while helping them connect authentically with Hawaii. The hotel has a curated travel guide and custom itineraries, including the ability to book adventures right from the website with hand-picked local outfitters.
Honolulu-based design team The Vanguard Theory created the new look for Pacific 19 Kona, bringing the outside in with intentional spaces. The lobby entrance features a giant monkeypod tree and lush flora, with a large reception table made from a reclaimed monkeypod by local woodworker Ryan Donnelly. The living room atmosphere is accentuated by lush planters, teak slat walls, matching wood shelving, and custom wallpaper designed by local artist Lauren Trangmar.
Each guest room has a palette of sandy taupe, palm green, black lava, and whitecap accentuating natural wood furnishings, reflecting the landscape of Kailua-Kona and inspiring guests to experience nature. The hotel has thoughtfully selected in-room offerings, including luxurious 100% cotton linens and towels, high-end bath amenities, and purchasable locally-sourced provisions encouraging guests to explore the island. All guestrooms include a private lanai and a macro bar featuring snacks and purchasable adventure gear.
The hotel has collaborated with local content creators to design its rotating art program, website, and social media to serve as an insider’s guide to Hawai’i Island for the modern explorer. The hotel also features Café P19, which serves coffee, artisanal teas, and lite bites, and a lobby retail shop featuring stylized essentials for exploring the island.
Pacific 19 Kona offers a program centred around art, music, culture, and wellness, including daily yoga classes, live music, and food trucks on Fridays and Saturdays, rotating lifestyle pop-ups by local designers and artists, and off-property island experiences. To celebrate its opening, Pacific 19 Kona is offering a special grand opening package that includes 30 percent off the best flexible rate and waived amenity fee with code PACIFIC19.
Pacific 19 Kona is a unique and authentic experience for visitors and locals seeking design-forward accommodations and immersive island experiences. For more information and to book a stay, please visit www.pacific19.com/.
