The Mary Valley Rattler played host to a film crew from the Queensland Department of Agricultural and Fisheries, who were putting together a video on agritourism and regional producers.
The video crew also filmed at Petersen’s Farm at Woolooga, which specialises in growing Rosellas (Hibiscus), Cape Gooseberries, Gem Squash, Red Bora Beans and chillies. The farm supplies the Rattler with jam, chutney, relish and cordial under CC’s Kitchen.
Other Gympie regional producers supplying the Rattler for its Rusty Rails Café and retail outlet include Lindols Macadamia, Gingers Fruit & Veg, Ningana Plantation, Piggy in the Middle, Cooloola Berries, Kenilworth Dairies and Rainbow Beach Meats.
“We love working with local producers like CC and Greg at Petersen’s Farm, who are just so passionate about what they produce,” said Linda Barry, General Manager of the Mary Valley Rattler.
“The Mary Valley and other areas of the region have developed as one of Australia’s most prolific food bowls, renowned for the diversity and quality of its produce. We showcase this range at Rusty Rails Café, onboard our weekly Tasting Train, and sell many of the items in our retail store.
“The Rattler has always had a close relationship with the agricultural community over its century-plus of operations and we look forward to supporting two major food festivals in May – the Mary Valley GourMay Festival and the Big Rosella Field Day, held just outside the historic township of Woolooga.”
The Department of Agriculture video is expected to debut in the next few months.
