A-ROSA River Cruises is set to make a big splash this summer by offering the first-ever onboard children’s swimming lessons. The popular river cruise line has teamed up with the Wasserlust Swimming School to provide beginner and intermediate courses for children aged between four and a half and seven years of age. These will be available on the A-ROSA SENA, the line’s flagship family-friendly vessel, on two key summer holiday departures on 5 and 12 August.
The six-lesson courses will be taught by qualified swimming instructors, with a maximum of six participants per lesson for 45 minutes each. The beginner course is designed to build water confidence and teach basic skills and techniques, while the intermediate course is aimed at children who are already comfortable in the water and aims to improve their technique and endurance. At the end of the course, all children will receive a certificate of completion. The cost of each six-lesson course is €100 per child.
A-ROSA SENA’s pool is located on the ship’s sundeck, next to a separate children’s splash pool – another first on a river cruise. The vessel is the perfect choice for a family holiday, with a dedicated kids club room called ‘Treasure Island’ featuring a slide, climbing and cave areas, craft and painting corners, and a relaxation area with large cushions designed to look like stones. The kids club and 12 spacious family cabins are located in the ‘family area’ of the ship on deck 1, which sleeps up to five and includes a play area, bathroom with shower and two sinks, separate toilet, and a toy box in every cabin filled with age-appropriate toys for young guests.
A-ROSA Regional Director Australia & New Zealand, Birgit Eisbrenner, said, “We all know how important it is to learn to swim from a young age, and we were delighted that our pool on A-ROSA SENA met all the requirements needed to host children’s swimming courses. The COVID-19 pandemic meant that many little ones didn’t get into the water at an early age, and now the demand is high, and it can be hard to find spaces on courses. Combining a river cruise and kids swimming lessons is something really unique that I urge agents to promote to their family customers looking for something a little different this summer.”
This exciting new offering from A-ROSA River Cruises is a welcome addition to the family-friendly amenities onboard their ships. The company’s commitment to providing an exceptional vacation experience for all guests, regardless of age, is evident in its attention to detail and dedication to creating a welcoming and fun-filled atmosphere.
