Sixteen weeks into a record-breaking winter season, with more than 450” (approx. 11 metres) of snowfall this season to date, Park City Mountain resort in Park City, Utah, is extending its 2022/23 season to April 23, 2023, offering Epic Pass Holders and all guests two additional weeks to ski, ride and play. This will amount to Park City Mountain’s longest season since 1993.
Extending beyond the originally planned April 9, 2023, closing date, weather and conditions permitting, Park City Mountain will offer the following:
- A majority of chairlifts and trails, operating out of both base areas, through Sunday, April 16, 2023
- Continuing slope access out of the Mountain Village base area only through Sunday, April 23, 2023
- After April 2, 2023, parking will be free in the Main, Silver King and First Time lots in the Mountain Village base area, as well as the Cabriolet lot in the Canyons Village base area. Parking reservations will not be required at the Mountain Village base area after April 2, 2023.
“My first season back working with the team at Park City Mountain has truly been an experience of a lifetime,” said Deirdra Walsh, vice president and chief operating officer of Park City Mountain. “From our early opening in November and spinning all lifts by Christmas Day through more than 400” (approx. 10 metres) of snowfall by March 1 — I have been mindful to appreciate every day. Thanks to record-breaking conditions and the hard work and dedication of all our teams and team members, we’re thrilled to be able to offer two additional weeks of skiing and riding beyond what we had previously announced.”
Megan Collins, International Marketing Manager, says, “We have had a very snowy winter in Park City, and there is still a lot of time to travel to Winter’s Favourite Town. April offers lower season rates and less crowded slopes, so with the extension of Park City Mountain’s skiing/riding season through Sunday, April 23, and Deer Valley Resort being open through Sunday, April 16, there is still time to enjoy a winter holiday.”
Still to come this season are a number of festive events for guests of all ages. The Spring Grüv Concert Series brings live music to Canyons Village every Saturday from March 4 through April 8. Spring Grüv is free for all ages and open to the public. The J. Lohr Women in Wine Dinner will take place at Legacy Lodge on Friday, March 24, and Park City Mountain’s annual pond skim – a community favourite – returns to Mountain Village on Saturday, April 8.
