Marriott International is committed to creating a culture of inclusion, and were proudly included in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index this year, representing the leading companies committed to a more equitable workplace.

In Australia, New Zealand & Pacific, women make up 44% of leadership roles on-property at Marriott International, and 43% of leadership roles above-property. In Asia Pacific (excl. China) 34% of women are in management positions, and make up more than 1 in 7 General Managers.

In Asia Pacific, Marriott launched the Women Ambassador Network (WAN) in 2021 to build a strong community of female leaders dedicated to raising awareness, taking action and advancing women in leadership. Since then, ambassadors have demonstrated an unwavering dedication to the cause – setting up mentoring programs, networking events and inspiring others through panel discussions – cultivating a culture where women lift each other up to achieve great things together.

Globally, Marriott International was the first company in their industry to establish a Women’s Leadership Development Initiative, designed to build a robust pipeline of women leaders

This year Marriott is celebrating International Women’s Day through:

  • Global Panel for associates led by Peggy Fang Roe (Host), Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer & Women Associate Resource Group Executive Sponsor; Christina Chan, Senior Vice President, Finance, Asia Pacific (excl. Greater China); and Marriott female leaders around the world
  • The #MItrailblazer campaign which encourages recognition and celebration of fellow female associates and leaders’ achievements on social media
  • Encouraging associates to join the Women Associate Resource Group, introduced to enable associates to strengthen their networks, grow their skills, celebrate their backgrounds and give back to the communities where they live and work.
