Janu TokyoJanu, the sister brand of luxury hospitality pioneer Aman, will open its first hotel, Janu Tokyo, this autumn. The hotel, which will offer a spirited social scene and elevated guest experience, will be located in the much-anticipated “Modern Urban Village” of Azabudai Hills. With 122 guest rooms, six restaurants, a bar, a lounge, a garden terrace, and one of the largest wellness facilities in Tokyo, Janu Tokyo will provide invigorating and restorative experiences to rekindle the soul. Azabudai Hills, an 8.1-hectare hub managed by Japan’s leading developer Mori Building Co. Ltd., will thrive in perfect synergy with the values of Janu, which seeks to nurture purposeful connection and bring people together.

Janu Tokyo will feature floor-to-ceiling windows, and the majority of the rooms will have private balconies with views of the iconic Tokyo Tower or surrounding greenery. With interiors designed by long-term Aman collaborator Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects, Janu Tokyo promises to bring a contemporary and creative zest for life to Azabudai Hills’ hospitality scene.

The hotel will have two Japanese restaurants, with one serving sushi and the other serving a sumibiyaki menu. The property will also be home to a Chinese restaurant and a grill restaurant complete with an open kitchen and bar, in addition to a patisserie and a vibrant Italian food emporium. The Janu Wellness Centre will span over 4,000 sqm and will be one of the largest wellness facilities of any luxury hotel in Tokyo, offering five movement studios, seven treatment rooms, and a large gym featuring functional and circuit training equipment. The hydrotherapy and thermal area, centred around a 25-metre heated lap pool, will also have a separate Lounge Pool, traditionally a place for socialising in Japan, as well as two Spa Houses.

Janu Tokyo is the first outpost of Janu, which was born from Aman Group’s long-term strategic vision, responding to the demand from their wider cohort of guests and the luxury traveller for the hallmarks of the Aman offering in terms of service and excellent design but with a different pace and spirit. Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman and Janu, said that Janu has been designed to cater to the increasing demand for destinations that encourage connection, adventure, and memorable interactions. Azabudai Hills, where Janu Tokyo will be located, is a “Modern Urban Village” in the heart of Tokyo, reflecting Janu’s purpose of nurturing kindred spirits and collective moments. The development will also be home to Aman Residences, Tokyo, located in a separate building from Janu Tokyo. Set to complete in 2023, the urban residences will offer just 91 exclusive homes, as well as lifestyle services and a residents-only 1,400 sqm Aman Spa with panoramic city views, providing owners with a sanctuary at the pinnacle of city life.
