On International Women’s Day, 8 March, pioneering Hong Kong-based, women-led menstrual health brand LUÜNA Naturals will host a fun-filled trivia night: Bloody Good Quiz. Shake Things up with Delphine Kong’s Woman-led Mixology Masterclass
On 9 March, Campari ambassador Delphine Kong will host a cocktail masterclass (HK$238 per person) from 5pm to 6:30pm. The award-winning female mixologist is a rising star in the male-dominated industry and will impart crucial insights into creating the perfect tipple. Terrible Baby Welcomes Female Guest Mixologists Night
In collaboration with Campari, Terrible Baby is inviting three woman mixologists to shake things up on March 9th (7-10pm). Guests mixologists Kaylie Leung, Delphine Kong and Asta Chan will present six delicious exclusive cocktails, bringing a unique cocktail-tasting experience for all guests. End the night at our bar, where DJ Subez from Mean Gurls Club will be joining forces for a danceable evening.
A Salon Talk with Annabelle Lopez Ochoa
On the evening of 9 March (7:30pm-8:30pm) at Terrible Baby Music Room, trailblazing choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, who has created nine narrative ballets to date, will share her process for creating Mademoiselle: the Life of Coco Chanel, which will be premiered by the Hong Kong Ballet on 24 March. Free entry.
Annabelle is an award-winning and sought-after choreographer who has created works for 73 dance companies around the world. Her wide-ranging body of work includes short conceptual pieces, full-length narratives, and dance films. The Colombian-Belgian Lopez Ochoa completed her dance education at the Royal Ballet School of Antwerp and was hailed as the “rising star of the Dutch dance scene” (NRC newspaper) in 2003. Annabelle is one of the world’s busiest and most imaginative choreographers — an inspiration to women across the globe.
Selection of Shorts
On 10 March (7:30-9pm), NOWNESS Asia partners with Eaton HK to present a selection of shorts from Hong Kong and the region exploring femininity in all its forms ranging from coming-of-age narratives, to stories grappling with gender stereotypes. This event is free with RSVP : http://bit.ly/3XXI9e0
Music Mentoring
In celebration of International Women’s Day 2023, Hong Kong bass music collective Feed the Dragon and all-female crew Mean Gurls Club team up for a day-to-night event incorporating DJ workshops, and industry talks followed by an afterparty. The workshops and talks held in both Cantonese and English aim to empower local women musicians and DJs to enter the competitive music industry and offer a nurturing environment of support.
