Australian Geographic OUR COUNTRYBrisbane is set to host Australian Geographic’s groundbreaking cinematic experience ‘Our Country,’ providing visitors with an immersive journey into Australia’s natural wonders.

Tickets for the multi-sensory experience go on sale today, with the event launching on March 11 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

‘Our Country’ is a 40-screen, 360° cinematic experience that offers a never-before-seen perspective on Australia’s diverse wilderness, capturing the beauty of the country’s unique landscapes and showcasing its vast array of wildlife. The exhibition has been produced in collaboration with Northern Pictures and is supported by Tourism Australia, with AAT Kings as the official partner.

Featuring content from Queensland, including the planet’s largest coral reef system and the world’s oldest rainforests, the experience represents more than 100,000 hours in the field by 25 cinematographers. The highly crafted cinematography is brought to life using state-of-the-art technology, including ultra-high-definition screen resolution (6K) and a powerful 360-degree surround soundscape.

‘Our Country’ has been curated by internationally renowned producer and filmmaker Karina Holden, who is an Emmy award winner. It features sound and music by Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists, including ARIA Chart-topping Bowerbird Collective and Gambirra Illume.

The experience is introduced by iconic Australian actor, Jack Thompson, who lends his voice to the exhibition. “Being able to stand still in Our Country’s soundscape and view the wild places that surround us is truly profound,” said Thompson. “It’s more important than ever before that we protect it.”

Australian Geographic Society Chair, David Haslingden, believes that ‘Our Country’ provides an incredible opportunity for visitors to be swept away by Australia’s natural wonders and leave feeling inspired to explore their own backyards right here in Queensland. “Australia is home to more than one million species, plants, and animals, and more than 80 percent of our plants and mammals are found nowhere else on earth,” he said.

Geoff Jones, CEO of TEG, said that the event was made possible by Australian Geographic, Northern Pictures, and AAT Kings. “It’s wonderful that visitors young and old can truly understand the unique beauty and diverse wilderness we have right on our doorstep.”

‘Our Country’ in Brisbane is a must-see event for anyone interested in Australia’s natural wonders. Tickets start at $34.90 for adults, $29.90 for concessions, $24.90 for kids, and $99.90 for families. For full details, visit ourcountry360.com.au.
